Whips ~ Australian Stockwhips
The stockwhip is hailed as the best working whip ever developed and is used almost exclusively for the two handed whip cracking routines that have gained such immense popularity in recent years. The weighting, superior balance and fast handling of our stockwhips suits this type of cracking perfectly!
Our stockwhips may be ordered in matched pairs as well as singly. When making a matched pair, both whips must be made simultaneously and great care must be taken that one whip is as much like the other as possible in weight, shape and balance.
Half Plait Handle Stockwhip
This is a traditional Australian Stockwhip with a half plait cane handle. The thong is available in 8 or 12 plait kangaroo overlay and has a plaited kangaroo belly. The 1/2 plait handle has the option of a 12 or 16 plait kangaroo overlay and is about 21 inches long. These whips are naturally balanced to crack with minimal effort.
Many entertainers, performers and competitors prefer the half plait cane handle because it is stiffer that a steel lined cane handle and gives a quicker recovery between cracks which is essential when performing a complicated routine.
The length of a stockwhip is is measured from where the thong joins the handle to where the fall is hitched on.
Colors available are natural tan, whiskey, brandy and black.

Note. When ordering, you have the option of choosing the number of plaits in the lash and the number of plaits in the handle. eg.8X12. 8 is the number of plaits in the lash and 12 is the number of plaits in the handle.
Full Plait Handle Stockwhip
This traditional Australian stockwhip is made of kangaroo with a plaited kangaroo belly, 12 plait overlay and latigo fall. The full plait handle is made from only the best steel lined cane and is 20 to 21 inches long with the butt loaded for balance. The length of a stock whip is measured from where the thong joins the handle to where the fall is hitched on. Colors are natural tan, whiskey, brandy and black.
